Valuable glass from
useless tubes.
For worn-out television and monitor equipment, it is important to reliably separate hazardous substances from recyclable materials. This must be done very carefully, because the glass components of the CRTs are valuable raw materials and should not be damaged. The devices are disassembled by hand into individual parts in disassembly lines. Metals, plastics and composite materials then go their separate ways. The exposed glass is passed to specialized recycling plants for glass applications in order to complete the materials cycle.
Although televisions and monitors contain recyclable material, they also contain a large amount of hazardous substances. Our experience with hazardous waste disposal guarantees that we can handle these problematic materials in an environmentally sound way and as required by law. |
