Recycling refrigerators and freezers is
practical climate protection.

Refrigerators and freezers come in many different shapes and sizes – from the mini-bar in the hotel to the freezer in private households and up to refrigerated display cases in shopping centres. The first step in processing the different types is extracting the oil and refrigerant mixture, which must be treated separately. Then the compressor and cooling circuits are dismantled. Afterwards, we disassemble and shred the devices in two stages, in order to obtain unmixed raw materials like plastic, iron and copper.

Recycling refrigerators and freezers is an effective contribution to climate protection. In EU countries alone, 20 million refrigerators need to be disposed of every year.
