For the most part, REMONDIS’ dismantling centre in Buseck concentrates on accepting and processing all types and sizes of cooling appliances. We first use environmentally sound processes to remove the refrigerants, blowing agents and the – now banned – CFCs from the appliances thus making an important contribution towards preventing climate change. Any metals we recover are passed on to recycling businesses as secondary raw materials. Whilst other recyclable materials are sent to specialist companies for further processing, the hazardous substances are transported to businesses which are able to process and dispose of them in a proper manner.
