The world’s population is consuming more natural resources than our planet is able to replenish. This will have a drastic effect on our lives, as we need these resources urgently: for food, for heat and light, for practically all the objects we use every day. It is essential, therefore, that the raw materials are recovered – and waste electrical and electronic equipment contains large volumes of such materials.
